Life sim game with horror elements
Neverway is a premium role-playing game developed by Coldblood Inc. It is a life-sim adventure featuring fantasy and psychological horror themes. In it, players are starting a new life at a remote farm, although their plans are thrown into chaos when they become the herald of a dead god.
Similar to games like Palia or Luma Island, Neverway offers a gameplay experience that combines farming mechanics with open-world exploration and crafting. Then, there's the combat that will have players battle waves of enemies and utilize a variety of skills and abilities to defeat them.
New beginnings and dead gods
You play as Fiona, who quits her dead-end job to start a new life at a farm. However, you unwittingly become the immortal herald of a dead god. You must now balance the chores of your daily life while battling horrific monsters borne from the titular Neverway, a nightmare realm that is slowly encroaching upon the world of the living.
Farm and tend to your homestead during the day while fighting waves of monsters at night, armed with your magical sword through a three-period daily cycle. Combat is a fast-paced hack-and-slash affair with various skills and abilities to use as you explore various unique locations. Collect resources to craft items that will provide buffs and special effects to your powers.
What's more, you get to interact with more than 10 unique characters throughout your journey. Your relationship with each one matters as the bond you form will unlock special buffs and new abilities for you to use in battle. Now, the game doesn't have an exact release date yet, so you will have to wait a while longer to get to try it.
Heralded by horrors
All in all, Neverway offers an interesting and compelling proposition that combines a farm life sim experience with supernatural horrors and action-packed combat. Balance the duality of your existence as you try to live a normal life while fulfilling your duties as the mighty herald of a god. Keep this on your radar and check it out when it finally releases.
